This summer, there are golf days, BBQ dinners, bike riding and early morning fishing in the cards. Now that BC has entered phase 3, Harmony Whistler Vacations will be here for you so that you can feel at home in the mountains. This week we are featuring Blackcomb Greens as part of our ‘Whistler Vacation Inspiration’, a gentlemen’s golf getaway for you and 3 friends.
THURSDAY ARRIVAL
Feel at Home in the Mountains at 'Blackcomb Greens'
This bright and spacious home features a large mudroom in the entrance providing ample space to store your golf gear. As you walk up the stairs you will be welcomed with an open concept living/dining area complete with a wood-burning fireplace for the utmost ambiance. There is a covered deck off the living area with a BBQ and stunning views of the Chateau golf course for a peaceful and relaxing feel year-round. The kitchen is equipped with brand new stainless steel appliances and faces the living/dining room for a social atmosphere. On the main floor, you will find the first bedroom with a queen bed and a second bedroom with two twin beds that can be converted into a king-size bed. There is also a full bathroom to complete the main floor. You will find an in-suite washer and dryer on the landing between the second and third floors. Upstairs will lead you to the master bedroom featuring a king-size bed with gorgeous mountain and golf course views. The upstairs bathroom comes complete with a jacuzzi tub and a full shower. This is the perfect home for you to host a gentlemen’s golf getaway for you and 3 friends.
Swing into the Weekend at Furry Creek Golf and Country Club
To start your weekend off you stop in at the gorgeous Furry Creek Golf and Country Club, just off of highway 99, on your way up to Whistler.
Known as “British Columbia’s Most Scenic Golf Course”, Furry Creek Golf and Country Club is surrounded by Howe Sound bay and snow-capped mountains.
As your golf game comes to an end, you pack up your clubs and finish the journey up to your holiday home in Whistler.
DINNER - Bearfoot Bistro
After you and your friend’s have unloaded your golf bags and explored the features of your home, you drive into the main Village for an unforgettable dinner at Bearfoot Bistro.
As one of Whistler’s premier fine dining restaurants, Bearfoot Bistro uses the best ingredients from local farmers and around the world to create mouthwatering masterpieces.
Local Tip: In the summer, Bearfoot Bistro transforms their outdoor space into a glamorous mediterranean-style patio surrounded by tropical plants and shaded by palm trees.
FRIDAY
Before another day of golf, you take advantage of the open kitchen/ living room and enjoy a lazy morning cooking breakfast and appreciate your friends company.
LUNCH - Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Clubhouse
Once you are all ready to go, you grab your clubs and follow the valley trail to the Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf clubhouse to check in and have lunch. (The clubhouse is only a 500m walk from the house)
Local Tip: If you don’t feel like walking there is a free shuttle bus stop (Blackcomb Way) only 130m from the Blackcomb Greens complex.
Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club
After a delicious lunch with picturesque views of the 18th hole, it’s time to enjoy a round of golf.
Traversing creeks and ponds, the Fairmont Chateau Golf Course creates a fun and challenging course for players of all levels with elevation changes of more than 400 feet.
Local Tip: Dress code: Proper golf attire is required at all times. This includes collared shirts, tailored pants or shorts (no cutoffs), and appropriate footwear. The Fairmont Chateau Whistler Golf Club is proud to be a metal-spike free facility.
Dinner - Hy's Steakhouse
After a remarkable game of golf, it’s time to head home and get ready for dinner at Hy’s Steakhouse.
Providing perfectly grilled Canadian steaks, cold drinks and a warm atmosphere, Hy’s Steakhouse is a memorable experience.
Local Tip: We recommend any of their Prime Steaks as this is Hy’s specialty. They are specifically selected Prime Grade Beef, aged a minimum of 28 days and grilled to order.
SATURDAY
Early Morning Fishing
6:00am wake up call for a 6:30am fishing trip is a great way to start your Saturday morning.
With many lakes, rivers and streams throughout Whistler and Pemberton, Fishing is one of the most popular summer sports. With over 20 years of fishing experience, Whistler Year-Round Fishing guides will select a water body that will give you the best chance of catching Rainbow Trout, Bull Trout or Cutthroat Trout (depending on the time of year).
LUNCH - Portobello
After a satisfying morning of fishing, its is already time for lunch. After you and your friends have changed from fishing, you walk over to Portobello, located in the Fairmont Chateau Whistler in the Upper village.
Featuring a ‘family style’ seating in a rustic, modern alpine setting, Portobello serves freshly baked bread, rich fragrant coffees, mouthwatering treats and a made-to-order sandwich selection. Located in the Upper village, Portobello’s culinary team ensures the finest fare is perfectly created in front of each and every guest.
Local Tip: Our staff favourite is the build your own sandwich option.
Don’t forget your dessert; a mouthwatering donut, our favourite is the Maple Bacon!
Bike Rentals from Arbutus Routes
After lunch it’s time to take advantage of both of the Free Activities we offer. You and your friends head over to Arbutus Routes conveniently located in the Upper village, close to Portobello.
Arbutus Routes is a full-service Whistler bike shop dedicated to providing you premium service and a high-end bike rental selection. Roll the trails around Lost, Green, and Alta lakes on our valley bike rentals or grab one of our trail bikes and discover the hidden spider web of single-track trails that makes Whistler North America’s preeminent mountain bike destination.
Enjoy one free adult four hour Trail Bike rental or one free adult twenty-four hour Valley Bike rental per unit, per paid night stay. Reservation required. Non-cumulative and non-transferable. Unused admissions expire daily.
Kayak
Once you have your bikes, you bike along the beautiful Valley Trail to Lakeside park where you have made a 1-hour reservation for kayaks with Whistler Eco Tours.
Whistler Eco Tours has been bringing people back to nature since 2001. Experience the local flora, fauna, and geology of Whistler while gliding on top of the water of Alta Lake.
Enjoy one free adult one hour Stand Up Paddle Board or Single Kayak rental per unit, per paid night stay. Reservation required. Non-cumulative and non-transferable. Unused admissions expire daily.
DINNER - BBQ at Home
After a peaceful afternoon on and by the lake, you bike back to Arbutus Routes to return your bikes and head back to your home in Blackcomb Greens for a BBQ dinner.
Inspired by today’s events, dinner is grilled fish and vegetables!
SUNDAY
Nicklaus North Golf
Once you have finished up at the Riverside Cafe, its time for another round of golf, this time at the beautiful Nicklaus North golf course.
Just minutes from Whistler Village and Riverside Cafe, Nicklaus North is nestled between Green lake and the River of Golden Dreams, standing out as one of the great courses in North America.
DINNER - Table Nineteen
After a great day on the course, it’s time to relax on the patio of Table Nineteen and take in the views of Green Lake and surrounding mountains.
Recently renovated and conveniently located along the shores of Green Lake, offering a glacier fed lakefront setting with towering mountain views, Table Nineteen features Whistler’s BEST patio. Enjoy a refreshing beverage while relaxing in complete serenity.
Local Tip: Our staff favourite is the Chicken sandwich – crispy buttermilk OR citrus grilled, bacon, rocket, beefsteak tomato and green herb mayo, served with your choice of fries, artisan greens or a Caesar salad. Pair this with one of their great Steamworks draught beers they have on tap !
MONDAY DEPARTURE
BREAKFAST - Gone Eatery
As your last morning in Whistler arrives, you and your friends pack up the car and head out for breakfast before one last game of golf.
Serving quick, fresh, and healthy dishes, Gone Eatery is a locals favourite breakfast spot.
Local Tip: Whether you’re vegetarian, vegan, gluten free or none of the above, Gone Eatery has something for everyone.
One Last Adventure - Whistler Golf Club
Following breakfast, you head just around the corner to the Whistler Golf Club for one last round of golf.
Situated adjacent to Whistler village, the Whistler Golf Club was designed by Arnold Palmer and is truly a “Whistler” brand that offers stunning views of Whistler and Blackcomb, uncompromising course conditions and friendly staff.
